1. Indulge at Alpine Chocolat Haus in Gaylord where you can add any truffle you want to your hot cocoa. Also, the chocolate-covered potato chips are obviously a must.

2. The annual Alpenfrost celebration (Feb. 17) draws thousands of people to downtown Gaylord for a Frosty 5K, heated karaoke battle, good eats and more winter fun.

3. Browse works by 40-plus artists at AuSable Artisan Village in Grayling. The art destination also connects to Coffee by Steph and Paddle Hard Brewing.

4. Snap a pic in front of the World’s Largest Ice Tree in downtown Gaylord. At its seasonal peak, the beloved attraction weighs an average of 200 tons.

5. Goodale’s Bakery in Grayling has been family owned and operated for more than 50 years. They know how to make a good doughnut (and fabulous paczki in February).
