1. A winter visit to Castle Farms is magical. Explore the grounds with a self-guided tour. Stop at 1918 Cellars, where you can taste 11 locally produced wines.

2. After a photo op at the Charlevoix South Pier Lighthouse, walk downtown and stop at That French Place for their award-winning hot chocolate and a Nutella crêpe.

3. The Foundry Craft Grillery in Elk Rapids is the perfect spot for a cozy night out. The restaurant’s off-season calendar is brimming with live music and trivia nights, paired with the best comfort food in town. Also check out their East Jordan hangout.

4. Head to Schuss Mountain at Shanty Creek Resort for a dogsledding trip! Second Chance Mushers’ rescued huskies are sure to put a smile on your face.

5. Warm up at Mammoth Distilling’s Central Lake tasting room with a seasonal cocktail, and grab a bottle of Cherry Bounce for some at-home mixology.

6. For all things sweet, Ruthann’s Gourmet Bakery in Bellaire is a must. Caramel-apple muffins, maple pecan scones, triple-chocolate cupcakes. Yum.
