Unpack your lederhosen and grab your favorite beer stein, Germanfest returns to Traverse City this September at Trinity Lutheran Church & School.

While autumn in Northern Michigan is known for its fresh cider and prime leaf-peeping, one of the best ways to experience the splendor of fall in this bustling region is through community events. Just in time for the first autumn weekend of 2023, Germanfest returns to Traverse City on September 22.

This long-held community celebration shares German traditions with plenty of beer, appetizers and Gemütlichkeit for all.

The evening’s entertainment will be provided by Tommy Schober & Sorgenbrecher. Indulge in a menu of German favorites featuring brats, potato salad, kraut, rye bread, Braunschweiger spread, beer cheese and, of course, only the best imported Hofbräu beer and German wines.

The celebration continues on September 23 with family-friendly activities at Familienfest, slated for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your little ones to Trinity Lutheran Church & School for a relaxing Sunday filled with games and crafts. Lunch will also be provided.

Tickets are $45; drink tokens can be purchased for $8. Plus, there will be a silent auction with all proceeds supporting education at Trinity Lutheran School. The online auction goes live on August 30.
