July 3 | The Accidentals at Jacob’s Farm | Traverse City 

Jacob’s Farm welcomes The Accidentals for a Fourth of July celebration with Patty Pershayla & The Mayhaps as the opening act. The farm will be closed to the public. Doors will open at 5 p.m. 

July 3 | Luke Woltanski and his Dangerous Music Men | Maple City 

Check out this album release party for Luke Woltanski the Dangerous Music Man, who is publishing his fifth studio record. To send it off, he and his studio band are coming together for a special release concert at Broomstack Kitchen and Taphouse. Doors open at 5 p.m.

July 6-27 | Historic Empire Walking Tour | Empire

Go on a walking tour of historic Empire and hear about its past and people. Empire was once a booming lumber town back in its heyday. Attendees are advised to dress for the weather.

July 6 | The Presidents: In Their Own Words, by Richard Schlatter | Curtis

Join Artprize Grand Prize-winning artist and graphic designer Richard Schlatter for a presentation on the top 15 presidents, using their own words to capture the intricate nature of each presidency. This presentation combines humor and little-known facts about each of the presidents.

July 8 | Harry Goldson Memorial JazzFest | Suttons Bay 

Celebrate the legacy Harry Goldson brought to American Classic Jazz with this year’s JazzFest event, showcasing performances by talented musicians who played alongside Harry. Plus, you’ll get to enjoy local food and wine, while internationally-acclaimed pianist, composer and producer Bob James headlines the event.

July 8 | Traverse City Shop and Sip on the Farm | Traverse City

This summer handmade market at Jacob’s Farm is the perfect family outing to wrap up the Fourth of July holiday week, featuring live music, craft beverages, fresh food and kids’ activities. Bonus: While you’re on the farm, be sure to go cherry picking or on a wagon ride! 

July 8 | The Accidentals | Curtis

The Accidentals will make a stop at Erickson Center for the Arts in the Upper Peninsula this July 8. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and VIP tickets are available.

July 12 | Peter ‘Madcat’ Ruth & the C.A.R.Ma Quartet | Kaleva 

Head to Northern Natural Cider House & Winery for a summer concert featuring Peter Madcat Ruth, a Grammy award-winning virtuoso harmonica player based out of Ann Arbor. Madcat’s repertoire of musical styles includes blues, American roots, folk, jazz, and more.

July 13 | Farm Club Garden Tour | Traverse City 

Explore the wonderful gardens at Farm Club in Traverse City. Tours will be led by Nic Theisen or Gary Jonas, co-owners of Farm Club and Loma Farm.

July 13 | Vintners Pairing Dinner | Northport 

This wine-paired dinner is a must for your summer bucket list! Willowbrook Mill is hosting five of the best winemakers in the region alongside a well-known, award-winning chef, Don Yamauchi.

July 13 | Ben Rosenblum Nebula Project | Curtis

Award-winning Jazz Pianist and Accordionist Ben Rosenblum and Nebula Project will perform a riveting show featuring prominent global music influences as well as the incorporation of the accordion into a jazz format. Rosenblum recently released his third album, Kites and Strings, which is the first to feature him on both piano and accordion alongside his new sextet, Nebula Project.

Local group The Handstanders is making an appearance at Northern Natural Cider House & Winery with a special brand of gallery fusion.

July 19, 20 | Lyrics ‘Round the Lake | Lake Leelanau 

This intimate music experience features a trio of performers who will participate in a traditional writers’ round, taking turns in sharing original songs and the stories behind their finely-crafted lyrics. Sit back and relax at Fountain Point Resort, as you enjoy music by Marc Broussard, Brian Vander Ark, and Emerson Hart.

July 22 | Wine and Cheese Tasting Auction & Fundraiser | Curtis

Don’t miss the largest and most popular event of the summer season! Support programming at Erickson Center for the Arts with its annual fundraiser featuring wine pairings, a silent and live auction, and raffles with great prizes. This year, the fundraiser will be located outside The Pine Performance Center.

July 22 | Gene Rantz Memorial Plein Air Paint Out | Northport 

The Plein Air Paint Out in Northport is one of the largest events of the season! Founded by Gene Rantz, this creative event invites artists from all around to paint Northern Michigan’s beautiful picturesque landscapes. Then, the artwork will be displayed to the public.

July 22 | In Bloom: Food and Music in an Urban Flower Farm | Traverse City 

The Traverse City folkadelic trio Plumthief will perform at Oak Park Flowers in the height of summer in Northern Michigan. In addition to music among the flowers, small plates of delicious food will be served throughout the evening.

July 9, 23 | Yoga by the Bay | Suttons Bay 

Take in stunning views of the bay along with peaceful vineyard scenery at this yoga session at Two K Farms, instructed by Mickey Boomer.

July 26 | Charlie Millard Band | Gaylord

Sojourn Lakeside Resort’s summer concert series is back with Charlie Millard Band, a dynamic group of musicians based in Petoskey.

July 28 | Benzie Bayou: Blues & Zydeco Fundraiser | Elberta

Benzie Bayou is back for 2023! Spend an afternoon listening to nationally-known blues, jazz, and zydeco musicians while you get a delish bite of local food vendors cooking up southern-inspired cuisine.
