Virtual Wildflower Hike with Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy

Take a virtual hike with the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy.

The conservancy recently shared a 15-minute video of volunteer Paula Dreeszen guiding a virtual wildflower hike at Pete’s Woods in Arcadia Dunes. While Paula’s in-person events are canceled due to the pandemic, this is the next best thing!

For those who can safely go for hikes in the area, while following social distancing guidelines, the conservancy has also released a detailed botany guide for Pete’s Woods so you can easily identify most of the plants you’ll see. Printed copies are available in an online shop, or view it online free.

Note, at Pete’s Woods, the trail is narrow and does allow visitors to pass while providing the minimum safe distance required to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Please follow the conservancy’s request for visitors to walk the loop counter-clockwise to maintain a safe distance from other visitors.
