Local flooring retailer, Floor Covering Brokers Carpet One, is pleased to announce their monetary donation of $6,100 to relief efforts in Puerto Rico. “We feel a special bond to Puerto Rico because our lovely friend and spokesperson, Miriam Pico, was born on the island and has many family members and friends living there,” says store owner Dennis Lauterbach. “Miriam will personally bring our donation to ministries and churches in Puerto Rico. These groups will purchase food, water, relief supplies such as generators and filters, and distribute them to families most in need.”
“Miriam has been a tireless advocate for the island, facilitating the flow of essential food and supplies to the mountain villages of the island, where they need the most assistance,” Lauterbach says. “We are happy to donate these funds, and to help as much as possible.”
