National Geographic has named Petoskey, Charlevoix, and Harbor Springs as some of America’s best beach towns. Susan O’Keefe, an associate editor at National Geographic Traveler Magazine, calls the Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan a “Midwestern summer paradise with idyllic waterfront lake towns.”
O’Keefe recommends hiking the Sleeping Bear Dunes, biking the 26-mile Little Traverse Wheelway, checking out Earl Young’s mushroom houses in Charlevoix, and dining at Jesperson’s in Petoskey. We couldn’t agree with her Northern Michigan vacation itinerary more. Follow the links below for more travel ideas if you plan on taking a trip Petoskey, Charlevoix of Harbor Springs.
