The tradition of fine dining at the Glenwood begins its 25th year at 5 p.m. on May 3.  The Glenwood is located in an early 1900s inn on M-22 overlooking Portage Lake in the Village of Onekama.

The Glenwood offers freshly prepared fish, steaks, seafood and pasta along with a wide assortment of appetizers and desserts and a complete bar. House favorites include almond battered shrimp, blue cheese filet, Michigan perch tower, parmesan encrusted whitefish and everything tuna. Fresh dessert choices often include a monstrous peanut butter pie, key lime coconut angel food cake, oatmeal fudge brownies and salted caramel cheesecake. All desserts are prepared at The Glenwood.

“The small children we served in 1994 are returning as married adults with families,” says Glenwood co-owner Donna Ervin.  “An important reward of The Glenwood’s longevity is the families and friends who have made us a part of their tradition.

“As we celebrate our 25th year, we can’t wait to see the many who have generously made The Glenwood part of their tradition while we welcome first-timers who may be discovering our beautiful corner of Michigan for the first time.”

The Glenwood has prided itself on teamwork and customer service since it opened on August 4, 1994.

“Over 1,000 people have filled Glenwood positions in those 25 years,” Donna says. “We are so proud that Glenwood employees have gone on to achieve great things in life—physicians, military service, teachers, financial advisors, CPAs and restauranteurs. We stay in touch and many return as customers much to our delight.”

The Glenwood also offers commercially made products at the restaurant and at Glenwood Market (417 River St., Manistee), which opens for the 2019 season on May 17.  Products include cherry mustard vinaigrette, lime ginger dressing, cherry barbeque sauce, cherry mustard sauce, cherry jam and others.
