PETOSKEY: Join us for the Art Lover’s Night Out on the Town! Downtown Petoskey and its galleries are hosting the sixteenth annual Gallery Walk on Thursday, June 18, 2015, beginning at 6:00 pm. Eleven wonderful galleries will be on the walk this year.  You are invited to feast your eyes on their newest works of art while sampling gourmet treats and refreshments. The evening ends at the After Glow, held this year in the Rose Garden on the Veranda of the historic Stafford’s Perry Hotel, where there will also be live musical entertainment provided by the local classic, Jeff Pagel.  Each gallery donates one or more original works of art to the event and a prize drawing is scheduled to start at 9:00 pm at the After Glow. The entire event is free of charge and will proceed rain or shine.

The participating galleries are:  Arlington Jewelers, Art Cats Gallery, Crooked Tree Arts Center Art Tree Sales Gallery, Mitchell Street Frameworks & Gallery, Northern Michigan Artists Market, Northgoods, Sandra Lee Photography Studio & Gallery, Somebody’s Gallery, Stafford’s Gallery of Art & History, Ward & Eis Gallery, and WARD Gallery at Ciao Bella!.

So how do you get started? First step – schedule a babysitter and get ready for a night out on the town! To start the evening off, simply stop into any of the participating galleries. There you’ll be given your passport for the evening, which will include a map and the stops to make. Each gallery you visit will give you a sticker on your passport. Each sticker counts as a ticket for the prize drawings at the After Glow party, and you can get more stickers by any art purchases made during the event.

Downtown Promotions Coordinator, Kate Manthei, says, “This event has really developed into a community tradition, and the galleries really do the night proud with their generosity and hospitality.”
