- 2 tablespoons white wine
- 2 tablespoons pickle juice
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 cup pimentos
- 1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- Italian bread (Yes, in the days before Americans adopted the baguette, there was only Italian bread.)
Combine all ingredients in a heavy saucepan, and on low-to-medium heat stir until cheese is thoroughly melted. Transfer to fondue pot when ready to serve.
