Orchard Beach State Park is looking for enthusiastic candidates to fill our seasonal positions at the park. Orchard Beach is a state park with modern camping facilities. We also offer shelter rentals, hiking trails and day use facilities. Additional facilities include 12 boating access sites and the Betsie Valley + Betsie river pathways.
The beginning pay rate for this position is $9.45/hr. This is a temporary position that is limited to a maximum of 1,040 hours typically starting mid-May.
Employees in this position may be required to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Employees typically work forty hours per week with two days off during the week. There is no paid sick, or vacation leave for this position. This is a union position.
Employees are paid every two weeks through direct deposit. This requires each employee to have an established bank account prior to starting in this position.
Most job tasks fit into one of three categories: public contact, janitorial, and maintenance.
- Examples of public contact are selling permits, answering questions, providing information, and rule enforcement.
- Examples of janitorial duties are cleaning public restrooms and vault toilets.
- Examples of maintenance are lawn mowing, garbage/litter pickup, minor plumbing repair, and minor construction projects.
