About Sr Leadership Development Specialist


  • Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, education, business, psychology or a related field, or 10+ years equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience working in organizational development, training or leadership development.

  • Experience as a team lead/manager required.

  • Certification in leadership development programs, such as MBTI, DiSC, DDI, or similar preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan for and manage projects. A solid record of successful project implementations with proven results.

  • Demonstrated experience in instructional design, classroom delivery, meeting facilitation and/or coaching.

  • Highly developed internal consulting skills and a proven ability to influence stakeholders. Ability to communicate in an effective and compelling way with senior leadership.

  • A career history of continuous advancement demonstrating increased levels of responsibility and complexity in each role.

  • Strong, effective and clear verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and strong presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated management skills, including highly-developed skills in directing, coaching, engaging and developing others.

  • Ability to develop proposals/solutions that meet organizational gaps.

  • Experience with employee engagement, retention, leadership development, and coaching.

  • Experience working in a healthcare environment and/or a lean environment is a plus.

  • Solid understanding of how Human Resources functions within a large organization.

ORGANIZATION Reports to the Senior Coordinator of Talent and Organizational Development.

  • Responsible for executing Munson Healthcare talent development strategies, such as system-wide employee development plans, leadership development, employee engagement surveys and action plans, manager retreats, meeting facilitation, new employee orientation, new leader assimilation, and internal coaching.

  • Effectively engages stakeholders as sponsors, champions, and drivers of talent development initiatives.

  • Designs, develops, implements and evaluates programs and processes, ranging from new employee onboarding through senior leadership retreats.

  • Partners with internal team members and external vendors as needed in the design and delivery of initiatives.

  • May manage vendor relationships including contracts, pricing and service definition/quality. Ensures adherence to vendor requirements e.g. intellectual property standards.

  • Strong business acumen, capable of translating organizational goals to organization effectiveness and leadership development strategies and applications.

  • Strong collaboration and consensus-building skills to facilitate solid working relationships with all levels of the organization.

  • Effectively prioritizes and manages multiple projects.

  • Facilitates classroom training, meetings, conferences and workshops as needed.

  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.

  • Measures and assesses key initiatives. Monitors effectiveness of programs and recommends changes to increase effectiveness.

  • Constructs training materials, instructor guides, manuals, training aids, E-learning, self-directed programs and evaluation/assessment instruments.

  • Markets programs to ensure the maximum participation for courses and to create a positive learning environment.
