The role of the RN at POMH LTC is to provide knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, caring and nursing care to all patients/residents. As a team member they will be responsible for coordinating care among staff and providers.
Leadership responsibilities require a commitment to the goals and objectives of the organization and active participation in helping the organization fulfill its mission/vision, while assuring compliance with all policy and procedures and safety/regulatory requirements.
The charge nurse will be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, and be currently licensed in the State of Michigan. The nurse should have a thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedures; knowledge and skills in techniques of good resident care; and adequate technical vocabulary. He/she should have good mental and physical health; retain emotional stability in situations of varying circumstances; and possess ability for positive leadership.Works in well-lighted, comfortable nursing unit. Subject to physical demands such as lifting, walking, standing, etc. Subject to stress, time pressures and interruptions of activities. Must be able to lift 35 lbs. May be required to rotate shifts, work additional hours or work on other units within the same nursing division or with similar patient care requirements.
Accountable to the LTC Director of Nurses or designee; ultimately accountable for the practice of nursing to the Assistant Administrator.
