About Radiologic Intern

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Successful completion of one year Radiology didactic instruction at an accredited Radiology Program and proficiency in radiologic exams at their clinical site.

ORGANIZATION

Reports to the Educational Coordinator / Adjunct Clinical Instructor.

Interns who have demonstrated basic proficiency in radiologic exams and patient care can perform radiologic exams with indirect supervision by the radiology staff technologists.

HUMAN RELATIONS

Must be courteous and pleasant when dealing with our customers (patients, family, hospital and medical staff).

Must function as a member of the radiology team.

Must be able to assist radiology technologists in the delivery of patient care.

PROBLEM SOLVING

Must be familiar with and adhere to all radiology department policies, guidelines, and protocols.

Must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Must keep calm and act promptly in an intelligent and constructive manner during a crisis situation.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in clean and comfortable surroundings.

Good mental health and emotional stability is required at all times

Good physical health is needed as the job entails occasional lifting and moving of patients and moving of radiology equipment.

Must follow Universal Precautions when performing all job duties.

Must comply with all safety policies to maintain a safe work environment.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  4. Acknowledges that safety is a self-responsibility. Knows the physical requirements of the job and work within those guidelines. Performs job duties safely at all times, utilizing learned body mechanics and transferring/lifting techniques. Plans actions to promote safety. Reports any unsafe situation/equipment according to Hospital procedure.

  5. Maintains BCLS certification.

  6. Cleans and restocks radiographic room as needed.

  7. Complies with all mandatory hospital and radiology in-services.

  8. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
