About Product Developer

Job Summary:  Work collaboratively with Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Operations and Quality Assurance to ensure company objectives are met. Provide recommendations for product and/or process improvements.

Deliverables:  Support the development, scale-up and production of new products along with quality improvements, cost optimization, process improvement and innovative ingredient / process technologies.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct routine and non-routine analytical lab testing.
  • Assist with development, GR&R evaluation or adoption of new analytical methods or instruments.
  • Assist with evaluation of ingredients, suppliers and crop variety testing for yield performance and quality attributes.
  • Perform testing to support product shelf life modeling and validation.
  • Characterizes properties of raw ingredients, in-process and finished products for yield performance as well as conformance to specifications over a range of scale levels, including plant production.
  • Lab scale product batching / prototyping for internal and / or external customers.
  • Pilot scale testing with equipment setup, operation and clean up.
  • Plant trials, monitoring production processes as well as collecting samples for analytical evaluation.
  • Maintains detailed records of formulations, procedures, analytical tests, observations and quality attributes.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all equipment is in working order; perform basic troubleshooting and calibration of instruments.
  • Maintain set inventory levels for lab supplies.
  • Comply with all regulatory, safety and quality standards.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, (Biology, Chemistry, etc. preferred) along with three (3) year’s experience or equivalent education and experience required.
  • Outstanding written / verbal communication and computer skills, including database development and maintenance.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and follow up on commitments.
