ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: High school education or equivalent required. Requires 3-5 years of progressively more responsible clerical experience with demonstrated ability to maintain a high volume of records and accurately post information. Previous payroll processing experience preferred. Solid accounting or math skills required. Demonstrated knowledge of automated timekeeping systems (KRONOS), Word, Excel and other software required. Demonstrated knowledge of general payroll administration, including applicable laws, paycheck calculation, etc. ORGANIZATION: Reports to the Payroll Manager, but may receive instruction and direction from the Director of Compensation and Benefits. Has frequent contact with hospital staff and managers as well as external contacts, and is required to assist in addressing payroll questions and provide requested information. SPECIFIC DUTIES: The duties listed below are descriptive of the full ranges of responsibilities within the Payroll area. The duties are shared between 3 or more employees. It is expected that there will be significant cross training to allow any individual employee to perform any of the duties.
The duties listed below are descriptive of the primary responsibilities within the Payroll area. 1. Use effective customer service/interpersonal skills at all times. 2. Process requests for checks and payroll adjustments.
3. Review time records 4. Review and/or process Personnel Action requests 5. Assist and educate employees in the use of Lawson self-service. 6. Respond to employee questions concerning payroll, earned benefits and deductions. 7. Assist with maintaining employee master record. 8. Conduct training for managers and timekeepers on all aspects of the KRONOS time and attendance timekeeping system. 9. Testing after system updates 10. Maintain voluntary deductions and reconciliations 11. Query the HR systems using system reporting as well as Microsoft Addins.
