This position is responsible for the coordination of all workers’ compensation and medical leave of absence programs. It will serve as the subject matter expert and ensure compliance with internal policies, including all state and federal regulations. It is also responsible for managing the employee health service functions of the organization.
A Bachelor’s degree preferably in Human Resources, or a related field, with five or more years of experience required. A minimum of three years of experience in a leadership role with demonstrated management ability required. Graduate degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources administration required.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively required.
The Manager, HR – Absence Management & Employee Health reports directly to the System Director of Human Resource Services.
This position has constant working contact with all members of the organization including: employees, managers, directors, vice presidents, and physicians.
The Manager provides accountable leadership to assigned teams with a focus on excellent customer care, organizational goals, and values.
The Manager has direct reporting responsibility of the Absence Management and Employee Health staff members.

Responsible for the comprehensive case management of all work-related injuries and illnesses that require intervention.
Provides leadership in consultation with departments regarding ergonomics, work modification and safe work practice. Leads the organization’s employee safety charter efforts and provides requisite reports thereof.
Works collaboratively with third-party administrators and legal counsel as necessary to manage claims.
Provides leadership and direction for ADA accommodations, FMLA leave processes and administration.
Responsible for the integrity of all required regulatory reports such as the OSHA Log.
Operationally focused with the ability to think creatively and deliver tactically.
Exercises strong project, organizational and time management skills.
Detail oriented, with ability to think critically and problem solve using data.
Manages, mentors, and coaches staff within his/her scope.
Performs other duties as assigned.
