Bachelor degree, preferably in business or engineering required. Additional education in Management and/or Business very desirable.


Reports to the Vice President of Supply Chain Management.


  1. Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Munson Healthcare.

  2. Embraces and supports the Performance Improvement philosophy of Munson Healthcare.

  3. Promotes personal and patient safety, including ensuring compliance with all applicable Munson Healthcare Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws and regulations at the federal, state, county, and township level.

  4. Ensures that MSS Linen operations are conducted in such a way as to maintain excellent customer service at all times. Is responsible to measure, report, and react appropriately to all forms of measurement of customer service and customer satisfaction. Conceives, evaluates, recommends, implements, and operates enhanced methods of measurement of the quality of customer service.

  5. Acts as the leader of MSS Linen, and as such is responsible for representing MSS in a positive manner. Prepares a monthly report on the performance of Munson Support Services for submission to the Board of Directors of MSS Linen Board and the Board of Directors of Munson Healthcare. Prepares the board packet for the annual meeting of the MSS Board.

  6. On a daily basis, stays aware of all trends and situations involving linen inventory, and reacts swiftly and accordingly, with the clear goal of maintaining 99% customer fill rate and high linen quality. On a monthly basis performs a physical count of linen on hand, using the information to develop a monthly linen order that maintains a consistent level of all items of linen inventory. Submits linen order to VP Supply Chain for approval not later than the 5th day of each month. On an annual basis, performs an analytical count of linen inventory for submission to external auditors.

  7. Is responsible to meet or exceed budgeted net income on a monthly and annual basis. Develops and submits the annual operating budget of MSS Linen.

  8. Is responsible for scheduling employees in such a way as to optimize expense and operate within budgeted labor expense while maintaining customer fill rates of at least 99%.

  9. Supervises or performs all administrative, data collection, billing, and other required reporting. Effectively designs the job description and accountabilities of the plant clerk to ensure the efficient completion of the above responsibilities..

  10. Maintains optimal work flow and labor productivity, ensuring a continuous, uninterrupted flow of work for each part of the production process.

  11. Effectively Manages employee performance, including attendance, tardiness and any necessary disciplinary action.

  12. Achieves and maintains expert-level understanding of all plant equipment, supervises MSS Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance staff. Ensures that parts inventories are configured and maintained in such a way as to prevent any interruption of production greater than 4 hours. Develops and ensures performance of preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications and reasonable industry practice.

  13. Performs all functions and activities with the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality and tact.

  14. Is knowledgeable of all Munson Healthcare , ensures that the entire MSS Linen organizations operates in accordance with all applicable policies, interprets policy and procedure as necessary and communicates accordingly and effectively to employees.

  15. Seeks and applies methods to optimize the environmental footprint of MSS linen.

  16. Creatively maintains and improves employee engagement by modeling a positive attitude and respect for the importance of the work of MSS Linen, treating staff with respect, interacting with dignity and good humor, and engaging in practices that promote a positive, fulfilling and satisfying work experience.

  17. Performs other duties as assigned.
