5 years experience in Mammography.

Annual completion of BCLS required.


Reports to the Manager or Director of Radiology.

Exercises functional supervision over a work group of technical and assistive employees.

Adolescence (13 yrs-17 yrs) X All ages (birth & above)

Under the direction of the Director of Radiology, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the designated modality/area including some or all of the following:

  1. Works as a Technologist in the designated modality/area.

  2. Serves in a coordinator capacity (as outlined below) in the designated modality on a full time basis (defined by Munson Medical Center Human Resources policy).

  3. Oversight, review, approval and submission of Payroll information.

  4. Monitors and documents staff attendance and alerts department management of policy violations.

  5. Development of staff schedules based on service demands and fiscal constraints.

  6. Recommends to the Manager, the need for overtime to meet patient care requirements.

  7. Provides multiple site and multiple shift oversight in the designated modality/area. This may include other affiliated hospitals.

  8. May be involved in working with governmental regulatory agencies and other external groups.

  9. Conducts Annual Discussions for Mammography staff and is responsible for maintaining verification of current/valid certifications and registrations for the staff that report directly to them.

  10. Ensures staff is updated on protocol/policy changes and educated on new equipment and procedures.

  11. Administers area staff competencies and provides documentation of the same.

  12. On occasion, may be asked to address issues and provide operational guidance during off-hour periods.

  13. Screens, interviews and recommends hiring of job candidates.

  14. Provides input on and recommends disciplinary action as appropriate.

  15. Coordinates the orientation of new employees to the area and ensures documentation of the same.

  16. Assists in the evaluation, selection and purchase recommendation of modality imaging and patient care equipment.

  17. May, as needed, work off shift, weekends and/or participate in the modality’s patient on-call responsibilities.

  18. Responsible for the development of patient schedules to meet “demand for service” requirements.

  19. May supervise modality patient scheduling personnel.

  20. Participates in interdepartmental process improvement initiatives.

  21. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
