About Logistics Tech I


  • High School Graduate or GED

  • Physically capable of handling/processing freight over an 8 hour period

  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds

  • Physically capable of standing/walking over an 8 hour period

  • Possesses skills which reflect detail, accurate results

  • Good comprehension and communication skills

  • Is flexible to changes in work schedule

  • Ability to work well with others

  • Basic computer / data entry skills

  • Continuous successful work experience of two or more years


Depending on work assignment and site location, the Logistics Tech I reports to the Site Manager. Has cooperative working relationship within their site locations with Directors, Managers, Supervisors/Coordinators and customers. Those techs that are responsible for a specific unit have a close working relationship with that Unit Manager/Charge Nurses. Involves daily working contact with co-workers, hospital staff, visitors and medical staff personnel.

  • Uses effective customer service/interpersonal skills at all times

  • Ability to use mechanical lifting equipment with proper training

  • Counts Par locations, unit storage rooms or other supply locations specific to area covering if applicable.

  • Picks supplies accurately from inventory according to pick ticket. Meets quality and efficiency requirements as defined by department.

  • Packs, lifts and package supplies according to requirements

  • Stage and prepare products for shipping

  • Stocks, rotates supplies and checks expiration dates in assigned locations, including nurse servers and medication rooms.

  • Accurately records all transactions to/from inventory using defined processes and systems.

  • Accurately logs and delivers supplies as required

  • Educates customers regarding supply chain functions.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    If a logistic tech is assigned to a specific nursing unit, the following duties may apply as well:

  • Stocks unit pantries and linen supply areas

  • Requisitions forms and office supplies as designated or requested by unit

  • Facilitates the order for non-stock supplies as directed by unit staff or manager

  • Attends unit staff meetings and shared governance meetings as well as unit huddles as requested

  • Act as a liaison between nursing department and all NMSA services.

q Annual performance will be evaluated through key customers and departmental staff
