About Home Services Respiratory Spec


Currently licensed and in good standing with the State of Michigan Board of Respiratory Care. Recent Home Respiratory Care experience highly desirable. A minimum of two years current Clinical Respiratory Care experience including adult, child, and infant application in the following areas:

 Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Systems Bi-Level Positive Airway Pressure Systems Home Mechanical Ventilation Home Oxygen Systems Home Oxygen Conserving Devices Fitting Nasal Masks and other Interfaces Performing Oxygen Saturation Assessments Pulse Oximetry Studies Cough Assist Devices Any respiratory specific equipment ordered by a physician 

Recent Home Health experience dealing with Respiratory Care patients and a good working knowledge of Home Medical Equipment operations.

Demonstrated ability to communicate accurately and effectively orally and in writing. Prior experience in patient education.

Possess a current Michigan motor vehicle license, ability to drive a car, an insured vehicle capable of transport to patient homes, hospitals, or offices, and a working telephone in the home.

Must bend, twist, stoop, and access all areas of office and warehouse.

Meets Munson Home Health’s established requirements for proof of health status. Physically able to lift 35 pounds. Demonstrates ability to move, position and transfer clients utilizing good body mechanics, lifting techniques and/or assistive devices to avoid manipulating more than 35 pounds.

Meets Home Health and Medicare standards as evidenced by criminal background check and fingerprinting

  3. Promotes personal and patient safety.

  4. Uses effective customer service/interpersonal skills at all times.

  5. Provides clinical assessment and patient/caregiver education regarding ventilation, Bilevel, Cpap, and other high tech Respiratory Therapy. Provides daily, weekly, and monthly follow-up visits to Munson Home Health Home Medical Equipment patients requiring Clinical Respiratory Care Services.

  6. Provides support services for patients on ventilators, Bilevel, Cpap, and other high tech Respiratory equipment. Rotates on ?call coverage for these services as required.

  7. Responsible to develop procedures to comply with CHAP Accreditation requirements as they relate to services in the home.

  8. Strives to remain current with the latest Respiratory Equipment available for home use, and becomes knowledgeable in its reimbursement requirements.

  9. Attends patient care conferences when high tech Respiratory Equipment is ordered through Munson Medical Center, and performs HME’s role in the discharge process.

10.Provides regular inservices for the HME staff and its Billing Team on equipment usage, billing requirements, patient education needs, and Respiratory Care modalities.

11.Provides Pulse Oximetry studies for MHME patients when requested.

12.Employees with e-mail are required to maintain proficiency in the basic functions of the program and are also required to regularly check email and keep calendars up to date.

13.Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
