What will you be doing?

  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures, including internal controls
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Monitor and confirm financial information including general ledger and sub ledgers in accordance with GAAP; prepare monthly financial statements; provide information to external auditors, and coordinate preparation of year-end financial statements and reports
  • Prepare budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans
  • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions, forecasting cash flow
  • Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforce adherence to requirements; file financial reports; advise management on needed actions
  • Ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll and the timely filing and payment of related payroll returns
  • Monitor receivable and payable balances and follow up on past due accounts
  • Maintain daily banking relationships and ensure timely preparation of required bank reports
  • Maintain financial staff job results by coaching and counseling employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Implement and maintain effective MRP/ERP and product costing systems 
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies

What skills do you need for this job?

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or closely related
  • CPA license is preferred
  • 5 + years of experience as a controller, assistant controller, or senior financial/accounting professional in a manufacturing business
  • Automotive supply experience is preferred
  • Competency in QuickBooks and MS Office application; i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly; be well-organized with an understanding of priority
  • Offer excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Decisive nature with the ability to take action, analyze and resolve issues
  • Ability to meet goals
