McLean & Eakin Booksellers hosts a free event for young children ages 3 and up. The Very Hungry Caterpillar Day has activities and story time, plus refreshments, and is hosted by Jessilynn Norcross and Lily Buday.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar is an Eric Carle classic having sold more than 12 million copies and has been translated into 20 languages. It tells a tale of science and gluttony following the caterpillar’s path as he eats his way through one apple on Monday, two pears on Tuesday, three plums on Wednesday, and so on, through cherry pie and sausage–until he is really fat and has a stomachache. And what happens next? This classic tale teaches counting and the days of the week. Plus, children learn about the metamorphosis of butterflies.
This is a free community event, however, reservations are required. To sign up call McLean & Eakin Booksellers at 231.347.1180; 800.968.1910 or visit the website at www.mcleanandeakin.com .
