The Petoskey District Library has collaborated with retired medical librarian Dottie Hawthorne to offer health education for the public in a new series titled Understanding Your Health. The first program, “Choosing Reliable Digital Resources”, will take place on Friday, May 6 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Library classroom. Finding and navigating reliable health resources online can be daunting. Dottie will guide the group through several reputable sites, offering tips for how to navigate and evaluate health information online.

She practiced her library skills serving physicians, researchers, nurses and allied staff for thirty two years. Prior to that she was librarian of the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.
