The Traverse City Track Club announces the 25th Annual Remembrance Run, with the event set to go on October 6, 2018, at Timber Ridge Resort in Traverse City.
The Remembrance Run is a 5K (3.1 miles) and 1-mile trail run/fitness walk, held at the forest trails in Timber Ridge Resort and the Pere Marquette State Forest. The event supports the Munson Healthcare Foundation’s Women’s Cancer Fund.
Online registration is open now at: https://runsignup.com/Race/MI/TraverseCity/RemembranceRun and closes Friday October 5 at noon. Those wishing to register late may do so in person on Thursday, October 5 from 5 – 7 p.m. at event venue sponsor Timber Ridge Resort in Traverse City, and also on race day.
Since 1994, the event has supported the Women’s Cancer Fund, created by TCTC volunteers and the Munson Healthcare Foundation, to support women who are being treated for cancer to provide funds for essential needs not covered by health insurance such as wigs, gas cards, and payment of utility bills when treatment prohibits time at works. To date, through the Remembrance Run, the Women’s Cancer Fund has received over $250,000 in donations.
Participants interested in raising additional funds through a donation to the Women’s Cancer Fund program may do so during registration for the event at the RunSignup event link.
In addition, there are many great volunteer opportunities available on event day, October 6. Learn more at: https://runsignup.com/Race/Volunteer/MI/TraverseCity/RemembranceRun
The 5K run and 1-mile walk begin at 10:00, followed by a Post Run Celebration which will recognize the many people who have helped make the event a success over the past 25 years.
The event is participant-timed with a large display digital clock and is an accurately measured and marked 5K and 1-mile distance.
