- This event has passed.
A peaceful gathering of all Northern Michiganders who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Asexual, Queer, Questioning or otherwise, as well as the friends, family and straight allies for LGBTIAQQ people. All are welcome to participate in a day of lifting up and celebrating love that is shared between two people regardless of gender or affectional orientation.
The 2014 theme, “TC Pride 2014: Us” is a reminder that we are all in this together and that the struggle for equal rights for all citizens in Michigan still exists. The denial of basic rights for any of us affects the whole of our community.
Schedule of events:
3pm: Gather at The Little Fleet with signs
3:30pm: Visibility stroll down Front Street
5pm: Speakers from the ACLU, MI Equality, City Commissioner Jim Carruthers and local speakers
7pm: Dancing to music by DJ Acupunk and DJ Heady
Throughout the day:
Do Ask, Do Tell Education booth staffed by various community members offering the opportunity to de-mystify long held questions about being LGBTIAQQ.
The event is open to the public, everyone is welcome.
