As part of the exhibition “New Gallery/New Work,” the Glen Arbor Art Association [GAAA] explores the art-making process with two “New Gallery” exhibitors Sunday, February 11, 2 p.m. at the next “Talk About Art” interview.
GAAA Gallery Manager Sarah Bearup-Neal will talk with Beth Bynum, mixed media collage and assemblage; and Mary O’Neill, non-representational compositions in PLART [fused recycled plastic]. The work of both artists is built on the use of recycled and cast-off materials — from plastic packaging to rusted metal found on the ground.
“Talk About Art” is a series of conversational interviews that explores the process of creative work, and engages the artists in discussions about the thinking that drives their work, and the tools and materials they use. “New Gallery/New Work” showcases the work of 25 visual artists from Benzie, Grand Traverse, Leelanau and Manistee counties. The exhibition continues through February 22, 2018.
“Talk About Art” is free and open to the public. For more information, please go to: glenarborart.org; or call 231/334-6112.
