Suttons Bay Public Schools will present its 13th annual COLLAGE on Friday, May 9, from 5:30 pm to 9 pm at the Suttons Bay High School atrium and auditorium. Admission is $3/person or $10/family. COLLAGE is a FOFA (Friends of Fine Arts) sponsored event featuring a variety of short student acts. The show includes student pianists, guitarists and vocalists; members of school choirs and bands in small groups like trios or as soloists, and scenes from the all-school musical and the earlier drama performances.
During the show, small groups of students perform throughout the auditorium, following each other without interruption for a unique audience experience. Students will also MC the entire program. All performers are middle school and high school students from Suttons Bay Schools.
Last year’s line-up included an original piano composition by Logan Mikesell; a one-act piece with Graham Kelly and Kendall Schaub; “Part of Your World” from the Little Mermaid sung by Kaila Bissonnett; “In the Hall of the Mountain King performed by bassoonist, Naomi Myers; “Café 1930” by saxophonist, Clyde Woods; and “Officer Krupke” from West Side Story with high school singers. Student dancers performed “Cry Me a River”, Rachel Anderson & Emily Beyer did a marimba duet; the School Choir opened the show and the Jazz Band closed it with “Jump, Jive an’ Wail”.
