Join the Harbor Springs Area Historical Society as we launch the boating season with the Second Annual Blessing of the Fleet on Wednesday, June 25. We will celebrate waterfront traditions new and old, with the blessing and boat parade on the harbor at 6:00 pm. Join us to have your boat or watercraft blessed for a safe and fun boating season. From powerboats to sailboats, canoes to kayaks and shoreside spectators, this tradition is for you!
This year, the Historical Society is honored to welcome special guest Admiral Robert J. Papp, Jr., recently retired Commandant of the United States Coast Guard. Admiral and Mrs. Papp will join Father Joe Graff who will be giving the blessing from onboard the CANIM, a historic 96-foot yacht.
The event is open to the public and boaters wishing to participate are encouraged to register with the Historical Society. Participants are also encouraged to decorate their watercraft! Registration is free, however, donations to the Historical Society are appreciated and can be made on our website, HarborSpringsHistory.org.
Spectators are welcome to enjoy the boat parade from along the historic waterfront in Harbor Springs with music provided by the Harbor Springs Community Band.
Immediately following the blessing, please join us for the Second Annual Summer White Party at the Boathouse of Harbor Springs.
