Learn about the historic Port Oneida Rural Historic District (the largest intact agricultural community in public ownership in the nation!) and the lives of its early settlers in the Charles and Hattie farmhouse exhibits, gardens, and barn. Take one of our scheduled tours by bike, car, or Horse and Wagon, or use our colorful Field Guide for your own exploration of this agricultural community now in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Or join Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear’s volunteer crews who work to preserve some of the 366 historic structures and landscapes in the National Park. Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear has been a nonprofit partner of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore since 1998.

Hours: The Port Oneida Farms Heritage Center is open six days a week from Memorial day – Labor day. Tues – Sat. 11 – 4 and Sun 1-4; fall hours are Labor Day through Oct. 15 Saturday and Sunday 1-4.

Location: 3 miles NE of Glen Arbor, in the Port Oneida Rural Historic District, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. On the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail in the Port Oneida Rural Historic District 3 miles NE of Glen Arbor.
