A new art show making its debut in May 2018 with North Country Community Mental Health. This is a special project that has been used all over the world to give voice to people in the community who are not always heard in the community. Through coming together over several weeks, local people with disabilities capture their feelings in words and pictures and share their experiences in public forums in the community. The Photovoice Inclusion show is by people with disabilities from Northern Michigan who shine a light on their experiences and their love of being included in the community. Look for the exhibit in Charlevoix, Petoskey, Gaylord, Cheboygan during May is Mental Health Month, with a special program on May 3 at the Red Sky Stage in Petoskey, 5-7:00 PM, which will feature a personal conversation with a few of the local artists as well as a showing of the short film by the Flinn Foundation, Opening Minds, Ending Stigma.
