Meet the farmers and get an up-close look at the animals, vegetable gardens, woods, and fields that make Bluestem Farm an interconnected patchwork of good, clean food. After the farm tour, we’ll sketch a bit and enjoy the beautiful farm. Bring your own sketchbook and personal art supplies. (JRAC will also make some supplies available.)
This event takes place rain or shine, but there’s a big barn for cover if the weather’s not good. Please dress for the forecast and wear comfortable shoes you won’t mind getting dirty. Light snacks will be provided. Please, no dogs.
This event is co-sponsored by Jordan River Arts Council and Bluestem Farm. For questions, contact Katie McLeod at (231) 675-7740. Though not required, registration is very helpful here: http://bit.ly/JRACBluestemOpenDrawingDonations on behalf of the farm’s subsidized food program (the Help Others Eat Well Fund) will be gratefully accepted at the door. More on that here: http://www.bluestemfarm.net/outreach/ **Please note that if you are relying on electronic navigation to Bluestem Farm, it will probably steer you wrong. The farm is at M-32 and Adams Road, and the driveway is off M-32. Parking is inside the farm. A good map is here: http://bit.ly/BluestemFarmMap
