Oleson’s Food Stores in Petoskey and Charlevoix will host a “Dollar Drive” Sunday, November 15 through Thanksgiving. Dollars raised help support domestic abuse survivors and their children at the Safe Home. The Safe Home is operated 24/7 by the Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan and provides domestic abuse services at no charge to survivors in Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet and Otsego counties. Last year, the Safe Home provided 2,502 nights of refuge and more than 7,500 meals to shelter residents. The “Dollar Drive” helps offset Safe Home food and supply costs that exceed $25,000 annually. Oleson’s Food Store in Petoskey is located at 2000 US-31 North, and in Charlevoix at 112 Antrim Street. For a Safe Home Needs List, visit www.wrcnm.org.
