Oliver Art Center Announces its 2019 Gallery Exhibition Schedule and First Exhibition of 2019!
Oliver Art Center is pleased to announce its 2019 Gallery Exhibition Schedule. 2019 starts off with the Annual Furniture, Fiber, Photography, and Sculpture Exhibition. This exhibition is open to all artists of any of the mediums mentioned in the title. In addition, OAC’s popular Cabin Fever Artist Talks are back starting Friday, January 25 with Bob Thomas (sculpture), Friday, February 1 with Carol Greilick (photography), February 8 with Pierce Getsinger (furniture), and ending Friday, February 15 with Nancy McRay (fiber). All talks begin at 5:30 pm and are free and open to the public.
Next up is a three-artist exhibition with Marcia K. Hales, Dorothy Anderson Grow, and Julie Braverman. Following next is the Annual Regional Student Exhibition where over 300 works of art will be featured from area schools and grades kindergarten through twelfth. The first Member Exhibition of 2019 opens Friday May 3 and will feature work by OAC’s membership. The first summer exhibition features well-known Traverse City artist Glenn Wolff, local favorite Steve Kline, and Northern Michigan artist Nancy Nash. The next summer exhibition features Luzhen Qiu from Troy, Julie Kradel from Cedar, and Stephen Palmer from Traverse City.
Fall begins with the Annual Juried Exhibition which features $2,000 in prizes and opens September 6. Next up is Phil Joseph of Onekama and Ken Cooper from Manistee. Finishing up the year is the second Member Exhibition of the year which opens after Thanksgiving.
