North Central Michigan College’s Corporate and Community Education department is offering a free three-hour workshop for food businesses to learn key skills to build business through effective marketing techniques. The workshop will be on Thursday, November 30 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. in room 27 in the main classroom building.
The workshop will begin with Building Your Brand from 5 p.m. – 6:20 p.m. This crash course will challenge the status quo, ask the difficult questions and enhance the way in which we all think about our farming and food businesses. Whether you are just getting started, or looking to reinvigorate an existing business, this workshop will cover all aspects relating to your business’ identity.
It will be followed by Marketing on the Web from 6:35 p.m. – 8 p.m. This crash course is designed to help your business optimize online marketing strategies. Together, we will unveil the “secrets” to marketing success on your social media and website.
The workshops will be led by Anne Morningstar, design instructor at North Central Michigan College. Morningstar is a freelance designer, animator and interdisciplinary artist, working nationally; her work has been exhibited in galleries, juried shows, traveling exhibitions and film festivals. Additionally, Morningstar is a co-founder and owner, lead beekeeper, educator, marketing and design mastermind behind Bear Creek Organic Farm.
