North Central Michigan College’s luncheon lecture series for the winter semester will begin on Friday, January 13. A wide variety of topics will be featured including Bay Harbor’s new arts center, Michigan’s changing climate, community corrections, Wings of Wonder, bees, the Freedom of Information Act and verbal judo. All programs in the winter series will be held on Fridays in the College’s Library conference room with the exception of the February 17 luncheon which will be in the Iron Horse Café. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon.

March 17 – Michigan’s Freedom of Information Act. You have the right to full and complete information regarding the affairs of government and the official acts of those who represent you. Robin Luce-Herrmann, general counsel to the Michigan Press Association, explains how you can use FOIA and the Michigan Open Meetings Act to more fully participate in the democratic process. Her appearance is sponsored by the Petoskey News-Review.
