The Luncheon Lectures at North Central Michigan College continue this fall. The lectures are in the Library conference room on the Petoskey campus. The luncheon begins at 11:30am with the lecture starting at noon.
Today’s lecture: Thom Zantow, principal bassoonist for the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra, explains and plays this odd-looking instrument with a long history and a rich sound. Thom is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy and the University of Wisconsin where he earned graduate degrees in music and library science. He performs in numerous orchestras and chamber groups and has played in backup orchestras for Joni Mitchell and Michael Bolton.
