Toxic Stress: When Life Experience Changes Bodies—MSU Pediatric Health researcher shares how to build resilience against adversity.
Countering those adverse experiences in childhood that impact lifelong health is the focus of a pediatric health researcher’s talk on Tuesday, September 26. The program will be at 10 a.m. in Cowell Family Cancer Center’s Room B031, on the Munson Medical Center campus in Traverse City. MSU College of Human Medicine Assistant Professor and Hurley Children’s Center Pediatric Health Services researcher Lauren O’Connell, M.D., MSc, FAAP, will also address how toxic stress affects bodies, protective factors, and ways to build resilience in children and families.
The Your Health Lecture Series is a collaborative community event sponsored by Northwestern Michigan College, Munson Medical Center, and Michigan State University College of Human Medicine – Traverse City Campus.
