Abby Beale

Benzie County resident Abby Beale continues with her monthly nutrition class series with the third in a series of eight, focusing on Mineral Balance: The role of minerals and why we need to keep them in balance. Each of Beal’s classes includes a refresher about what a nutrient dense, properly prepared whole food diet is, as well as a review of digestion and digestion dysfunction.

Abbey has worked as an accountant for 28 years, but her true passion has been nutrition and wellness, particularly as it relates to diet and health goals. Nine months ago, Beale decided she wanted to channel that passion in the direction of a new career and enrolled in a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner program with the Nutritional Therapy Association. She recently received her program certification.

Dates and topics for future classes are: February 20, 2014: Water is the most common nutrient deficiency in the U.S. population. Why we need it and how to re-hydrate your body for optimum function; March 6, 2014 – Endocrine Health: The endocrine system is a system of complex relationships. Why we need to always support the whole as well as the parts; April 17, 2014 – Cardiovascular Health: The health of the heart reflects the health of the body. How to keep your heart healthy through proper nutrition; May 22, 2014 – Immune Health: Healthy digestion is key to healthy immunity. How to keep your immune system functioning optimally through proper nutrition; and June 19, 2014 – Nutritional Detoxification.

The cost for each class is $5 per person or $10 per family. For details or to register, visit Beale’s website at www.healthylivingtc.com or phone (231) 352-7463.
