Maritime Heritage Alliance announces two summer wooden boat building classes offered by the Great Lakes Boat Building School (GLBBS) of Cedarville, MI at the MHA’s Discovery Center-Great Lakes Campus on M-22, just one mile north of Traverse City.

GLBBS is nationally recognized for its exceptional 9-month wooden boat building programs, as well as its summer program featuring Chesapeake Light Craft (CLC) summer workshops.

For the first time, GLBBS offers a satellite summer program in Traverse City at the Maritime Heritage Alliance boat shop, 13268 S. West Bayshore Drive.

Tuition for each workshop is $695 plus shipping for the boat kits: $98.

Two workshops are scheduled:

August 5-10 Build a CLC Kaholo paddleboard (kit costs $885 for the 12′ 6″ or 14′ paddleboard)

August 26-31 Build a Jimmy Skiff (kit costs $1250)

Only six boats will be constructed per workshop.
