NMC’s LIFE Academy hosts Lifelong Learning Campus Day Friday, May 15 from 9:45 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The main attraction is the great variety of learning options and presenters that provide exposure to topics ranging from computers to world issues, and art to travel. Participants create a day-long learning experience by selecting three sessions from 43 options presented by area experts: NATO advisor, Jack Segal explores the military-industrial complex that has taken hold since Eisenhower’s 1961 warning; sights and sounds of Cuba are shared from a recent trip by NMC students; Rabbi Chava Bahle looks at contemplative living through the lens of several world traditions; author and world traveler, Paul LaPorte shares the magic of the Galapagos through his stunning photography; Dr. Charles Huebner demonstrates how dietary lifestyle changes can potentially reverse diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and more; with other sessions covering power foods for your brain, lots of local history discoveries, computer topics, gardening, good reads, vitamins and supplements, cooking and much more. Cost of the day is $25. Bring your lunch, or order the convenient box lunch for $10 extra.
