Voted “5 Nashville artists that you need to hear right now” by The Tennessean, he’ll be bringing a three piece band and plyaing a bit of old and new. Will definitely play all four tracks off the new EP. American Songwriter says “The EP’s title track is a fitting introduction to the four-song collection, showcasing Whitten’s guitar chops, velvety vocals, and ruminative songwriting.”
Steve Leaf and the Expats
They hale from Chicago and call the midwest their home. Steve Leaf crafts songs of love, loss, and history while Dan Haefs and Nick Young hold down one of the finest rhythm sections of our time. Their latest release GO TO THE PINES was a venture in DIY recording and the product is a collection of five songs sometimes drenched in reverb and distortion and at others, quiet as a whisper.
Hailing from Northern Michigan, Jonathan Timm built a solid foundation in the Michigan folk scene, leading the songwriting efforts of Blackwater Valley Songs, Birches and The Jeremies and releasing 4 albums before making his move to Nashville in 2011. Once there, his longtime interest in classic country flourished, and he began crafting heart-rending songs under his own name. Jonathan returned to Michigan in March 2017, with a new band charged with sentiment.
