Save the Date . . . The Interlochen Farmers Market will have it’s 1st market day this year on Sunday, May 4th. As last year, the market is located at Interlochen Corners at the Interlochen Shopping Center in the parking lot at the end of Ric’s Grocery Store, and across from Tom’s Grocery Store. Hours are 9 am to 2 pm every Sunday through the last Sunday in October.
There are 58 vendors at this market this year. You’ll find everything from fresh, locally grown fruit and vegetables, baked goods (including vegan and dairy free and gluten free baked goods), meats, honey, herbs, eggs, chocolates and dog cookies. Craft vendors include all sorts of fiber arts such as knitted and crocheted baby items, hats, scarves, socks and more, lots of wood workings including furniture, hand crafted canes, birdhouses and more. Several mixed media artists and jewelry artists. And if you like your soaps and lotions, there are vendors for those as well.
You’ll also find just about every type of plant for your garden and/or flowerbeds and display areas. Vegetable plants, herbs, perennials, annuals, hanging plants and potted plants as well as seedlings.
And last but not least, there are the market’s concession vendors. Nate’s Best Kettle Corn and Izzy Dogs will both be back. So stop by and check out this wonderful market. There’s lots of parking in the parking lot. This market is dog friendly, so go ahead and bring your dog. And note that this is a no-smoking market, so if you need to puff, please put it out before you enter this market.
