Swimmer’s Itch – Issues and Answers

Learn about ducks, snails, and the parasites that cause swimmer’s itch. Susan Price, Project Manager of the Michigan Swimmer’s Itch Partnership (MISIP) and Dr. Curtis Blankespoor, University of Michigan Biological Station will share the knowledge gained in a quest to find science-based solutions to this important problem that is all too common on many northern Michigan lakes. Particular attention will be given to what the MISIP is doing to monitor, assess, and control swimmer’s itch and to answer your questions.

There is no charge to attend our Ice Breaker winter speaker series, but donations are welcome. All sessions are open to the public. Coffee/tea will be available. Limited seating available though, so pre-registration is highly recommended. To register for this event, please call (231) 347-1181.
