Harmonious Wail (pictured above): Best known for their smoldering vocals laced among the jazzy mandolin and guitar. They are an infectious blend of continental jazz, swing, gypsy music and melodic vocal. The Harmonious Wail bursts through the normal boundaries of the gypsy swing genre with it’s intoxicating vocals as displayed by Maggie Delaney-Potthoff. The enticing arrangements and sheer joy the Wail brings to every performance is downright addictive!
The Gonzalo Bergara Quartet (pictured below): The all-acoustic Gonzalo Bergara Quartet plays a modern variant of 1930’s gypsy jazz. The music is heavily influenced by Djano Reinhardt and the Hot Club of France, as well as the traditional jazz and music of Bergara’s true home, Buenoa Aires. “Ganzalo Bergara’s music exists in a way that very little music does. He has lavished such care on every phrase, built each arrangement with such lapidary precision and pared away anything extraneous, the music becomes a sculpture. It has weight, density, gravity. This is serious….and deeply moving.”
