The Friends of the Traverse Area District Library will once again host their highly anticipated Annual Used and Almost Rare Book Sale September 19 – 21 in the McGuire Room at the Main Branch of the Traverse Area District Library (TADL).
“Donations have exceeded expectations for this year,” Spencer added, “It just about exceeded our storage space up on the third floor of the library!”
For the second year, the sale will feature a special evening preview sale opportunity for the committed book collector, dealer, or just plain curious. Doors will open Friday, September 19 at 6:30 p.m. New this year, all current Members of the Friends will receive free preview sale passes. All others can become “Friends” members at the door for only $10 (pass will be good until December 31, 2015).
As an added bonus on Saturday, from 10:30 – noon, everyone is invited to meet award winning author Rachel Weaver. Weaver will be available in the lovely Atrium (behind the stairs) overlooking the library gardens and Hull Park. She will share her debut novel, “Point of Direction,” which was recently chosen by Indie Bound as an Indie Next Pick! Limited copies of her book will be for sale.
Some 17-20 Silent Auction books will on the auction block in the McGuire Room beginning at the Member Preview Sale and continuing until 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon. The auction will include many hard to find books of all sorts, old and new, signed and unsigned.
Book Sale times include Friday, September 19 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. ($10 at the door), Saturday, September 20 from 9 a.m. – 5p.m. and a half-off saleSunday, September 21 from noon – 3 p.m.
