Thursday evening Dixieland Worship Service and concerts held in July and August. The Epsilon Jass Band and the Petoskey Second Line perform at the service.
The Epsilon Jass Band formed on July 4, 1963 and celebrated 50 years of jazz last year. Throughout the past 50 years, 15 different members have added their considerable individual talent to the unique sound of the band. Joining the band for 26 years is the Petoskey Second Line. In traditional New Orleans style, the group is second in line after the Band, celebrating life by wearing designer sequin dresses, custom made feathered masks and exquisitely decorated umbrellas by New Orleans’ artists.
All proceeds from the freewill offering go to benefit local charities. Dress is casual.
“Really Hot Jass – Cool Church!” (Air conditioned sanctuary.)
Petoskey, on Little Traverse Bay, is about 60 miles north of Traverse City on US-31.
