Crooked Tree Arts Center
Petoskey, MI 49770
Crooked Tree Arts Center is looking for a student artist to feature for the eleventh annual New Year’s Eve at the Arts Center event. Entry is open to all students in Charlevoix and Emmet counties, and the entry deadline is Monday, November 20, 2017. The selected artwork will be used for promotional materials, t-shirts, and admission buttons. The selected artist will receive a $50 gift certificate for art supplies, 2 t-shirts, admission buttons with featured artwork, and they will be featured in CTAC’s winter newsletter. All student art entries will be on display during the event.
“There are so many talented students in our community; we want to give them the opportunity to show off their artistic interpretation of this annual event!” said Andrea Coronado, CTAC Events Coordinator. “The winning artwork serves as inspiration for this holiday tradition that we are thrilled to host with our partners, The Petoskey District Library and Blissfest Music Organization.”
The eleventh New Year’s Eve at the Arts Center will be held on Sunday, December 31, 2017 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. This event is an all ages, alcohol-free, celebration featuring performances and workshops by Crooked Tree Arts Center instructors, area artists and organizations, including Blissfest Music Organization and Petoskey District Library, among others. Admission buttons this year are $10 for adults and $5 for students, and will be on sale later this fall. Children under the age of two receive free admittance. The evening concludes with a “Midnight at 9,” Times-Square-style ball drop on Division Street. The outdoor festivities begin at 8:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public. New Year’s Eve at the Arts Center is sponsored in part by the Kroeger-Mainland Family Fund at Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation, and by Moran Iron Works of Onaway, Michigan.
