Interested in learning more about composting? Together with Carter’s Compost and Master Gardener Volunteers, SEEDS will be hosting a composting workshop. We’ll talk about various approaches to composting, its microbiology, and the use of compost in home gardens. We’ll open up last year’s straw bale compost bin, screen any usable compost we may find, and build a new bin to accommodate this year’s accumulation of organic garden and clean, plant-based kitchen waste. The workshop price is a $15 suggested donation.
(Note: In event of rain, the workshop will be rescheduled to Wednesday, June 18, 5 – 7 p.m.)
Directions to the SEEDS Farm at the Historic Barns
From Silver Lake Road, turn right at the light and take the first sharp left to the SEEDS Farm, or from 11th Street, drive past Stella’s and the TBAISD and watch for the sharp right before the light. Proceed on foot to the gardens, just below the two large barns.
