Join us for Italian Cuisine at the second NMCAC Community Dinner on Tuesday, February 25th at 5:00 p.m.. The meal will be prepared in Grow Benzie’s Commercial Incubator Kitchen and served in Big Blue, the main building at 5885 Frankfort Highway (M-115) in Benzonia. All meal offerings, made from scratch with the help of local volunteers, will feature many locally-produced ingredients. After dinner, a timely and regionally important presentation, “Get the Bugs Out: Benzie Stream Ecology” will be given by the Benzie Conservation District.
The Northern Michigan Culinary Arts Community (NMCAC) is holding their 2014 Winter Dinner Series at the Grow Benzie facilities in Benzonia. Dedicated to fighting poverty ‘through education in agriculture, nutrition, job training and life skills’, Grow Benzie shares many of the values and goals that guide the NMCAC. This initiative gives both organizations an opportunity to work together in addressing some of the needs of the Benzie community.
There is a suggested donation fee of $8 per person. All ‘profits’ go towards NMCAC’s 2014 Culinary Scholarship fund, to be awarded to a Benzie County student. However, no one will be turned away. If you plan to attend, please consider a simple non-binding reply. Although not required, it will be helpful in planning the food needs for the event.
